De distilleerderij van Jack Daniel's is gevestigd in Lynchburg, Tennessee (361 inwoners) en had al in 1866 een vergunning. De whiskey (met 'e') noemt men een Tennessee whiskey en doordat hij ook gemaakt is van maïs lijkt hij op bourbon, maar er is èèn groot verschil.
