Tamdhu wordt ook wel de "Can-Dhu-Spirit" van de grote Industriële Revolutie genoemd. De distilleerderij doorstaat vervolgens de ups en downs van de 20e eeuw, wordt een aantal maal gesloten en heropend, om in 2010 opnieuw gesloten te worden.
